Paul Davies FCA – Director

Progressing to become Audit Manager, Paul was responsible for the audit of a variety of businesses and organisations. In addition, Paul was involved in numerous special projects including acquisition reports and bringing an audit client to a UK Stock Exchange listing.

Paul then worked in a variety of finance positions in commerce, predominantly in the asset based financing sector for Bank of America and National Westminster Bank. His last commercial role was as Finance Director for Hitachi Vehicle Leasing Solutions Ltd, a vehicle contract hire company with a fleet of approximately 40,000 vehicles.

Paul rejoined Tudor John as a partner in 2001. His clients include companies, private clients and some doctors practices encompassing all aspects of general practice work.

Qualifications: Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).

Hazel Day BSc (Hons) FCA DChA – Director

Experience/specialisms: Hazel graduated from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Mathematics and qualified as an accountant in 2000.

Her first post graduate experience was with a firm of accountants based in Kingston-upon-Thames, where Hazel gained valuable experience in looking after the needs of a wide variety of clients in the commercial SME sector, before moving across to Kingston Smith, a ‘top twenty’ ranked firm of accountants, based at their office in Redhill. It was during this period that Hazel began to specialise in the Charitable and Not-For-Profit sector, progressing to become Audit Manager within that firm.

In 2004, Hazel joined the long established, Epsom based firm of Tudor John, taking over responsibility for the majority of the firm’s larger charity sector clients and is now the lead partner for this specialist sector.

Hazel was awarded the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA) in 2009. The diploma was designed specifically for accountants working in, or directly with, the charity sector and is aimed at those professionals who seek to develop a deeper understanding of the knowledge required for top level roles in charity accounting and financial management. The charity sector requires specialist training because it has a different accounting framework to the private sector based on fund accounting and trust law.

In addition to her clients in the charity sector, Hazel also maintains a relationship with a portfolio of private sector clients. This combined sector experience has proved invaluable in enabling Hazel to provide her charity and Not-For-Profit clients with fully rounded, more commercially focused, advice and guidance.
